Four Good Reasons to Remodel :: Don’t Move, Remodel

No matter how much you love the home you’re in, it’s natural that over time your needs will change leading you to considering changes to your (that) home. This means you’ll be faced with a decision; should I remodel or move?

Both options come with many pros and cons, but here are Four Good Reasons to Remodel:

You Get What You Want

Remodeling your home means you can give yourself exactly the home you want; your perfect floorplan, that spacious kitchen layout and a bathroom addition you always wanted.  Do you do a lot of entertaining?  Create your perfect dining room with access to a deck so you can enjoy company inside and outside on warm evenings.  Do you have a large, busy family?  Create a spacious, airy open-plan kitchen/dining space for the whole family to congregate in!

You Won’t Have the Hassle of Moving

Moving is pretty stressful, and the costs involve many hidden expenses you might not have counted on.

Many people also don’t want to move because they love their neighborhood and have friendly neighbors.  If you have kids at a good school nearby then it may not make sense to change schools.

You Love a Challenge

It’s a shame that most remodeling websites talk about the struggles of remodeling – but what about the fun part?  Remodeling your home is a great creative outlet!  As well as designing your dream home, you then get to pick out furnishings and decorate the rooms, and if you love building and making things then you can even get involved with the remodeling work yourself.  Being able to sit back and relax in a home that you had a hand in creating provides a great sense of satisfaction.

Invest in YOUR home

Remodeling is one of the best ways to add value to your home.  A bedroom addition with a private bathroom or a nice kitchen remodel makes your home much more desirable to potential buyers.  Even if you don’t want to sell any time soon, bricks and mortar is a great place to put your money until whenever you need it as your home will grow in value.
