With Memorial Day next weekend, Barry and I decided we’re taking the week off.  Why?  Well . . . because . . . we’re . . .

Takin' Care of Business Sign by Barry Morgan

Barry’s got some larger jobs kicking off, and me . . . somehow, someway — I skated out of the annual trip to West Virgina with the in-laws.  F’Yay!  It looks like I may actually be able to string a few consecutive days of work on the exterior of our house — pray sunny skies.

That, and more importantly — I need to focus and figure out just how exactly we are going to get to Chicago, and yes, I was serious about that.  If you missed it, here >> 106 Miles to . . . the Remodeling Show 2011.  We will collecting funds (a fundraiser) in the hopes of making it to the Remodeling Show 2011.  It is taking place in Chicago — October this year, and we do not have the budget (yet) to get there.

I need to research and find out exactly who is and who is NOT going to be there.  I need to figure out what form this fundraiser will take (I hope to work in a give away for folks that end up contributing).  I even hope to partner with, and possibly match to, a charity.  (If you have any ideas or suggestions here, please do not hold back – leave a comment below.)

It is has been an great spring thus far and I thank you all for that.  I am looking forward to the coming Memorial Day weekend, yep, and I am really looking forward to June too.  June 20th — hanging with our Brizo Dream Team (and others) at the GE Monogram Experience Center in Louisville (more on this in future posts, I’m sure).  It also looks like I’ll be making a quick jump up to New Jersey/New York (again, and earlier in the month) to do a little time with a handful of social media stars << not naming names . . . yet.

So . . . in other words, June is going to be tasty.  If you were planning on a submission, please keep them coming.  Overall, my quest for a third continues, and if anyone out there might be interested in a guest editor’s gig, let me know.

. . . Out on an Anecdote

I was at the park today (now yesterday) with Evyn and Eva; they had their bikes.  Eva, the five year old, asks the seven year old Evyn, “Can I ride your bike?”  (Eva wanted to try the one without the training wheels.)  Surprisingly, Evyn said yes.  Eva was stoked.

I then asked Evyn if she had any pointers for her little sister.  She said, actually rather quickly, “Yes, three . . . ”

  1. Pedal fast.
  2. Look straight ahead, and
  3. Believe you can do it.

So proud, and so . . . I’m out.  Thanks for reading and happy Memorial Day weekend to you and yours.  I’ll be bloggin’ at you again soon . . . in June.  ~jb
