Timber Framing: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly :: Sandy Connolly
About Timber Framing
The Southern Vermont Welcome Center. This info area / rest stop greets you as you come into Vermont I-91North. Barn style frame with BIG pine beams, hand hewn by Vermont Timber Works. Yes, all good here.
Sam’s Point Visitor Center timber framing uses Forest Certified Hemlock Timbers, excellent choice for this nature reserve. Setting a great example, it’s all good here.
Take a look at this chapel, full timber frame design, phase one complete in this picture. Proud timber framers, that’s all good. Custom design build, douglas fir FOHC timbers with graceful glulam arches…yes, all good here!
Who am I kidding, we think timber framing is all good. No bad and no ugly :) …well none to speak of, shhhhh.

Note from the hosts: For a while there, I almost considered adding a “Timber Frame Channel.” OK not really, but it is cool to see just how fervent timber framers are about what they do. And there have been a few known to hang in these parts. It was the ultimately reason I decided to go with this fun little post. Thanks to Sandy from Vermont Timber Works; she was Tagged! by @Splintergirl Amy Good and Sandy can be found on Twitter @Sandyconnolly. Drop her a line. ~jb

Smells all good too, I’ll bet!
