Hi Amy,
About two years after I moved here the state of Delaware began promoting the rural road in front of my home as a major beach route, so 80 mph and higher is about right in the summer months. We take things a little slower than that but the rush is always less than 100 feet away. The expression life passing us by most certainly applies as the lure of the ocean brings folks in from surrounding states.
As a carpenter in these parts much of my business comes in the spring and fall as property owners seek to button up and renovate their buildings with an eye toward the next summer season.
It is only in the past several years that my wife and I have begun to really take note of the beginnings of seasonal change. As I was writing to you I heard, for the first time this year, a flock of geese pass over head.
I love that you see cheesecake brownies and granny smith desserts here. Thanks for taking the time to slow down and comment. :-)

Amy, you did mean to include a few gobs of ice cream on top of that cheesecake brownie, right?
Barry, nice post. Interesting how there comes a time in life when one is suddenly more in touch with or sensitive to the subtle change in seasons.
For me, there is a (just barely) perceptible point just around mid-August (I call it the “tipping point”) when one morning it’s suddenly fall (for me, anyway). I can’t explain exactly why that is, or why it seems that way, but it somehow happens for me. Literally overnight.

Hi John,
It was a challenge to try to capture this idea in photographs because I believe there are probably several senses perceiving the change at once.
Your observations help fill some of the voids in this picture post for me. It is pretty cool to think there is proof that we are constantly changing in our perception of changes we have witnessed over and over again.
Happy Fall!

Hmmm…cheesecake brownines, apple harvest for the next dessert and life passing us by at about 80 mph?
